About Leonarda
I am currently in my Honours year studying Biology at the University of St Andrews, one of the UK's leading universities for the subject. I have a strong academic background in both Biology and Mathematics, having previously studied both subjects at Higher Level in the International Baccalaureate (IB).
I enjoy tutoring because I find it rewarding to help students build confidence and discover that subjects they initially find difficult can actually become interesting and enjoyable.
As a university student myself, I can relate to the challenges of studying and preparing for exams. I particularly enjoy working with students who may be less interested in traditional studying, or who are curious about what comes next. I can share my own experiences of choosing subjects, applying to university and preparing for the next stage of education, offering a real perspective on what to expect.
Above all, my aim is to create a fun, relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace.

My lessons are online, flexible and tailored to each student. I believe consistency is one of the most important parts of making progress, and online sessions make it much easier to commit without it feeling like too much. Even a few lessons each week over a longer period can lead to strong results.
I take time to get to know each student so I can explain concepts in a way that suits them best. Before lessons, I familiarise myself with their syllabus, textbooks and course content, and I like to plan ahead around exams, assignments and deadlines. This helps me shape lessons around the student’s goals, whether that is building confidence, passing, or aiming to achieve top marks.

Leonarda is helping me with my GSCE maths. She listens to the things I struggle with and provides lots of focused questions every week that helps very much. She always makes me try to complete them before prompting me and will never just tell me which I like. She’s very kind and makes me feel like I can ask lots of questions! You should definitely use her if you need help.
