About Mackay
My name is Mackay Johnson. I grew up in Seattle, WA where I also developed a love for science and sports. I was recruited to row for a D1 program and did that until Covid. After, I transferred to a smaller school to focus on my studies. There, I got my degree in Political Science and Biochemistry. As a pre-med student I was obviously passionate about science, but I also wanted a more well-rounded application and politics had always been a strong interest of mine.
While in school, I worked in a genetics lab and was published in multiple journals. I was also the secretary of the Model United Nations Club and an avid skier.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude and am currently taking a few years off to save money for medical school. I have worked as a tutor for 6 or so years (excluding when I tutored in high school). I would describe myself in this position as friendly, supportive, and empathetic, with a touch of 'no BS' thrown in. My goal is to help you achieve your academic goals, but I understand that everyone has a different learning styles and what works for one might not work for the other. I want to create a personalized learning plan that will work for you.

How does this work? We start with an introductory meeting lasting around 30 minutes to help us figure out goals and learning styles. Then we will work together to create a lesson plan designed to specifically meet and exceed said goals. We can immediately go into the first session following the introduction if desired.
After this, we can set up a schedule - I work with people anywhere from twice a month to daily, depending on what their needs and time lines look like.
(Please note tutoring is geared towards high school students, however, feel free to reach to reach out if you're above or below this age range and we can discuss if I would be the right fit)
