When I was teaching ,almost all of my students came to class because I made the class relevant by showing the students how their education was relevant to their future success. I also involved students in the class by making my students question what I was teaching to make the students think. With non-participation a teacher/instructor is going to lose the attention of the students. To me, it is the teachers job to make the class relevant. When I started teaching my students did not suffer boring lectures. Those teachers/instructors/professors that only give dry lectures are what I call “retired on the job". They can they do better but they choose to not do better.
