About Aafreen
Graduating Dux from the Australian Science and Mathematics School with Top Marks in Biology, Research Projects and a Merit in English, I am a STEM enthusiast, with laboratory experience, and a passion for learning and helping others. Some of my relevant experiences/achievements include:
Governor's SACE Award Nominee (2024)
Achieved Excellence (Top Student) Awards in Biology, Research Project B, and an internal merit in English
Completed Research Project B in Year 11
- Achieved a perfect score in all assessment tasks
- Meticulously planned and undertook a 6-week laboratory investigation exploring antibiotic resistance mechanisms
- Collaborated with Flinders Microscopy, using their Scanning Electron Microscope to capture evidence of biofilm formation in antibiotic-resistant bacteria
Participated in work experience and annual SALHN research weeks at the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute
Received a full scholarship to undertake two first-year medical science topics at Flinders University as a Year 12 student, achieving High Distinctions in both topics
Participated in various extracurricular and mentoring opportunities:
- Mentored peers and junior students in Research Projects, Biology and offered assignment proofreading help
- Volunteered as a student mentor in Primary Maths Extension Group
- Conducted STEM-based workshops for rural primary school students as part of the 2023 Dream Big Children Festival

My lessons are aimed primarily at students in Years 7 to 12. They take a personalised, learning-first approach to achieving all your study goals.
In English, I help you develop crucial skills including essay planning and writing, improve vocabulary, and provide personalised tips on what you need to take your written and verbal communication to the next level.
I can also help proofread assignments, providing feedback on both communication and how well you address assessment criteria. I am happy to assist in planning study, especially during exam periods, to make the most out of your time without burning out.
I truly believe that every student can excel and achieve their goals, and I am more than happy to provide the support and resources needed to help you get there!
