About Taylore

I am a GTCS-registered secondary school Biology teacher with a degree in Pharmacology, offering supportive and personalised tutoring in Biology and Science.

Through my classroom teaching experience, I have developed a strong understanding of the Scottish curriculum and the demands of National 4, National 5, Higher and Higher Human Biology. I also have experience supporting pupils with Additional Support Needs (ASN), and understand the importance of adapting teaching approaches to suit individual learning needs.

My aim is to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where every student feels comfortable asking questions, developing their understanding and building confidence. I tailor lessons to each student's goals, using clear explanations, structured guidance and exam-style practice to help them make progress at their own pace.

Whether you are looking to improve your grades, prepare for upcoming exams or develop a stronger understanding of challenging topics, I will provide professional, patient and engaging support to help you reach your full potential.

About my tutoring

As a GTCS-registered Biology teacher and Pharmacology graduate, I believe every student learns differently. Whatever your reason for seeking a tutor, I will focus on what YOU need, adapting lessons to your individual goals, learning style and areas for development.

What I offer

- Biology: National 4, National 5, Higher and Higher Human Biology.
- BGE Science: Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- Summer preparation: Looking to get ahead before starting Higher or Higher Human Biology? I offer National 5 tutoring over the summer to help you consolidate your knowledge and prepare for the next academic session.

How I teach

My approach begins with a clear, concise overview of the subject before focusing on the key concepts you need to understand most. I break complex topics into smaller, manageable sections, explaining each step before bringing everything together to develop your overall understanding.

Lessons are tailored to your needs and may include:

- Clear learning intentions and step-by-step guidance.
- Past paper question walkthroughs to develop exam technique.
- Custom flashcards and active learning tools to reinforce knowledge.
- Diagrams, real-life examples and constructive feedback to address areas for improvement.

I believe in teaching you how to learn, not just what to learn. My aim is to help you become a more independent learner who feels confident applying knowledge to unfamiliar questions and challenges. I encourage curiosity and questions, and I will always be honest if there is something I need to look into further.

Lesson length and experience

Lessons typically last 60 minutes, with the pace and content adapted to your individual needs. Drawing on my classroom teaching experience, I aim to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes and celebrating progress.

Whether you want to strengthen your understanding, prepare for exams, improve your exam technique or build confidence in a particular topic, I will work with you to help you achieve your goals.
