About Nicholas
I’m a qualified teacher, Popular Music graduate and working musician with over 30 years of playing and performing experience.
Alongside teaching, I continue to perform regularly, bringing current, real-world musical experience into my lessons. My background covers guitar, bass and ukulele, as well as songwriting, live performance, recording, improvisation, music theory and working with bands.
I’m friendly, patient and encouraging, and I believe learning music should be enjoyable, practical and rewarding. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to take your playing further, you’ll receive professional, supportive tuition tailored to you.

My lessons are built around you — the music you love, what you want to achieve, and the time you realistically have to practice.
I teach guitar, bass and ukulele to beginners, returning players and experienced musicians. Rather than following a rigid program, we use real songs and practical playing to develop technique, rhythm, lead playing, improvisation, theory and musical confidence.
A typical lesson combines playing, clear guidance and achievable next steps, so you leave knowing exactly what to work on and why.
As a qualified teacher, Popular Music graduate and working musician with over 30 years of playing and performing experience, I bring both professional teaching skills and real-world musical experience to every lesson.
Whether you want to play your first song, break through a plateau, improve your lead playing, join a band, prepare for a performance or simply enjoy playing more, your lessons will be shaped around your goals.
