About Devin
I have taught upwards of 200 lessons in the past year and plan on continuing to grow and inspire my students each day to become whatever version of MUSICIAN they aspire to be. I am kind and patient with beginners up to professional players. There is an important aspect of music teaching that I think a lot of other instructors discount heavily. Put simply, it is the Yin and Yang of music. You cannot have structure without freedom and vise vera. The point of becoming great at an instrument is to learn the in and outs of how it works, how to apply that knowledge to learning what others have written, and then to virtually forget all that knowledge for the sake of expressing ones own musical style. Music is a wonderful mystery, one I hope investigate with you soon.

-Use of a diverse range of musical inspirations and backgrounds to provide an eclectic and all encompassing musical education.
-I want the individuals passions to inform which route we will take within our lessons.
- I cover proper technique, stretching, musical theory, improvisation and song learning. This allows the students to get a better scope of the WHY and not just WHAT they are playing.
- All my past students have commented that I have the same level of energy and excitement as you would expect a student who has just picked up the guitar for the first time. This comes in handy when the attention span of most of my students range heavily.
-I would recommend my classes for all ages and musical backgrounds who are excited to fall in love with the process and joy of making music.

I am not very creative but I've always wanted to learn how to play an instrument. I decided to try guitar. I chose Devin because he has a patient and energizing teaching style. I need the patience because I get frustrated easily, Devin was able to make me feel empowered instead of defeated when I wasn't learning as quickly as I wanted to.
