About Alden
I hold a bachelor’s degree in music and have spent the last 7 years teaching guitar to students of all ages and experience levels. My passion for guitar began in my teenage years, and since then, it has evolved into both a personal and professional calling. I’ve studied a variety of styles—ranging from classical and fingerstyle to rock and blues—and I bring that versatility into every lesson I teach. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of learners: from complete beginners learning their first chords to intermediate players wanting to refine technique or understand music theory. My approach is always student-centered. I focus on building strong musical foundations while also encouraging self-expression and creativity. Whether a student wants to play for fun, prepare for a performance, or write their own songs, I adapt my lessons to fit those goals. Beyond teaching, I remain an active musician. I regularly perform, write music, and collaborate with other artists, which helps me stay fresh and inspired. I often bring insights from my own practice and performances into the classroom, offering students real-world context and practical tips they won’t find in a textbook. What I enjoy most about teaching guitar is watching students grow—not just musically, but in confidence and curiosity. I believe learning an instrument is a deeply personal and rewarding journey. My aim is to be a supportive guide, helping each student discover their unique voice through the guitar while building skills they can carry with them for life.

My guitar lessons are designed to be flexible, enjoyable, and deeply informative, catering to both beginners and those with prior experience. Whether you’re picking up the guitar for the first time or looking to refine your skills, the lessons are paced according to your goals and musical interests. I aim to make each session a balance of structure and creativity, where progress is steady and motivation stays high.
Each lesson covers essential elements like chord formation, rhythm patterns, strumming techniques, and fingerstyle playing. For those interested in expanding further, we also explore music theory, improvisation, and ear training. I make sure students not only learn how to play but also understand the “why” behind the music, fostering a deeper connection to their instrument and the songs they love.
I encourage students to bring in music they enjoy, and we use that as a foundation to build skills and confidence. From pop and rock to blues, folk, or classical pieces, we’ll shape your learning around your personal taste while developing a strong technique and musical awareness. Students also have opportunities to create their own music through simple songwriting and composition exercises.
My ultimate goal is to help each student become a confident, independent guitarist who can enjoy music in a personal and lasting way. I promote consistent practice, mindful listening, and exploration—skills that serve students far beyond the lesson room. With patience, creativity, and clear guidance, I support students every step of their musical journey.
