My lessons take place in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, whilst drawing on world-class conservatoire training and many years of top performing experience. I am happy to welcome students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced players wanting to hone their skills.
I have been teaching across London for many years, for regional music services, state and independent schools, and privately. I am currently a visiting instrumental tutor at Northwood College, and regularly undertake educational work for organisations such as Live Music Now and the Musicians' Company.
I trained at the Guildhall School, where I completed my BMus (Hons) and MMus in performance, receiving multiple scholarships and reaching the final of the Needlemakers' Prize for woodwind.
I studied with some of the country's top woodwind performers, including Christian Forshaw, Nick Moss, John Harle, Mick Foster, Alison Teale and Martin Robertson.
As a freelance performer my experience includes work with Britten Sinfonia, Paul Weller, Public Service Broadcasting, west end and UK touring musicals and the National Theatre. I am a founder of the critically acclaimed Kaleidoscope Quartet, with whom I have won multiple awards, and performed at venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Bridgewater Hall and many others across the UK and Europe.
Lessons at my home:
£20 per half hour lesson
£40 per hour lesson
Lessons at the students' home are charged at a higher rate depending on location, and must be at least an hour in length.
I teach saxophone, clarinet, oboe and flute from beginner level to ABRSM grade 8 and beyond. I regularly enter students for Associated Board and Trinity grade exams, for both classical and jazz syllabuses, and am also comfortable with a non-exam approach, focusing on learning specific pieces or techniques.
All lessons include work on proper instrumental and physical technique (breathing, embouchure, vocal tract, hand position and posture), musicianship and aural skills, practice technique and learning strategies, and music theory.

Learning isn't a problem, clarinet lessons for all!
Taking wind instruments lessons has never been easier: you're going to learn new skills.
