About Nikita
Hi! I'm an Australian tutor with a lifelong love of books and reading. That passion led me to complete a Master's of Publishing at the University of Sydney, on top of an undergraduate degree in creative writing, so I've spent years immersed in the craft and business of great writing.
Beyond the classroom, I've worked in the publishing industry itself, interning at Zeitgeist Literary Agency, spending nearly two years working in bookstores, and helping Sydney University Press put together their annual anthology (plus audiobook!). I've also taught in more traditional settings, in classes and leading art lessons at a boys' boarding school in Oxford.
Having been tutored myself growing up, I know exactly what makes lessons work and that the best tutors were always kind, fun, and understanding, but also kept me from losing my way or getting overwhelmed.
Originally from Sydney and currently based in Europe, I love helping students of all ages build confidence in their reading, writing, and self-expression, and maybe even find or nurture a love for books!

I take a personalised approach, adapting my style to how each student learns best rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. Having been tutored myself growing up, I understand what makes lessons genuinely helpful. I focus on building real understanding of structure, voice, and craft, not just regurgitating information. I also draw on my experience leading art classes at a boys' boarding school in Oxford and as a paint and sip instructor, where I learnt to keep students engaged and to adjust on the fly when an approach wasn't landing.
The typical lesson length would run for 45–60 minutes, though I'm happy to adjust based on the student's age, needs, or what we're working on.
I have a Master's in Publishing and Bachelor’s degree with a major in creative writing and minor in English, therefore these would be the areas I would teach in for all ages and skill levels.
