About Jake
I've spent eight years at university and understand the challenges and opportunities it brings. I've also trained to be a doctor, worked as a doctor and studied to work in the UK, which I will start next year. This has given me a unique and pragmatic approach to learning what matters most, and retaining complex information to make smart decisions quickly. I have experience both as a long-term student and as a teaching assistant and lab instructor, and am a confident communicator. No question is a bad question, and I enjoy talking through areas of confusion and helping to provide clarity.

I offer flexible and tailored lessons, finding the most engaging ways to understand complex concepts and retain information, as well as focusing on milestones like tests and assessments. My focus is on ensuring you understand why things are the way they are, and why an answer is correct - building on foundational science to explain more complex problems. I can tutor for a range of undergraduate level subjects, particularly in medical and life sciences, and lessons are typically an hour, but could be more or less depending on preferences.
