I’m an approachable and supportive English teacher with a calm, patient manner that helps students feel at ease in lessons. I pride myself on being kind, encouraging, and easy to talk to, creating a safe space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
I build strong, positive relationships with my students, taking the time to understand their individual needs and learning styles. I’m friendly and down-to-earth, but also focused and structured in my teaching, helping students stay on track and make steady, meaningful progress.

English Tutor – GCSE Specialist (KS4) | PGCE with QTS
I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE (QTS), currently teaching KS4 English daily in a secondary school; my specialism is English Language and I have a range of experience teaching English Literature. I am willing to work online, or can travel to your home address (within the Doncaster or Rotherham area). The first, free introductory lesson will focus on understanding the current needs of the student. It is preferable for students to have current/predicted grades, any mock exam results, and areas that they may struggle with.
Each lesson is tailored to the student, ensuring that students receive targeted support that meets their specific needs, strengths, and areas for development. I focus on building positive, supportive relationships with students, creating a calm and encouraging learning environment where they feel confident to ask questions and take risks. My approach centres on setting clear, attainable goals, helping students see consistent progress and build confidence over time.
I have extensive experience working with students who struggle with English, including those who lack confidence, find analysis challenging, or need support with exam technique. I break down complex skills into manageable steps, making learning accessible and achievable for every student.
Whether your child is aiming to boost their grades, build confidence, or secure a pass, I provide structured, supportive, and effective tuition designed to help them succeed.
