Depending on how old the student is and their level of knowledge i approach things in multiple ways. For younger students, the focus should be on understanding the subject and its relevance. For older students who are similar to myself, the focus is on interpreting exam questions correctly and answering them with the needed amount of detail.
As an A level higher student now, i have came to the conclusion its easier to like a subject when you understand it. Within my lessons i will focus on different areas the student finds difficult and cannot get their head around and explain the logic and explanations to show a reasoning for the certain subject.
