About Sophia
Hi, my name is Sophia Schiefer. I'm a high school junior at Head-Royce. I am a very collaborative person. I am able to accommodate different speeds of learning and different styles. I volunteered as a middle school math and science tutor for three students for two years, increasing their grades by 10-15%. I also interned at the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula with elementary and middle school students for a summer. I took Honors Chemistry achieving an A, and am currently taking Honors Calculus. I love working with other students and helping them learn. Anyone can improve with the right mentor.

I am proficient in math from pre-algebra up to honors pre-calculus, and chemistry. I design individualized lesson plans depending on the student's weaknesses. I believe getting to know about the student is the most important step. I hope in our first lesson I will be able to learn their learning preferences and their weaknesses in the subject. After this, I will make an personalized lesson plan for the student. I would help them step by step, and address their weaknesses from there. I would likely follow up with a bit of extra practice to ensure proficiency.
