Hello! I am a graduate of Otis College of Art and Design. I teach fine arts and animation, with expertise in drawing, illustration, charcoal drawing, and still life. Art is my passion.

About Summer
I am a digital media graduate with a 2D animation emphasis
from Otis College of Art and Design, where I focused on developing both technical skill and creative storytelling. I am also an illustrator who primarily works in drawing, still life, fine art, charcoal, and character design. Alongside my studies, I have taken on leadership roles in production and classroom settings, as well as public speaking opportunities, which have strengthened my ability to communicate clearly and work with a wide range of students and peers.
I have experience supporting artists in professional and educational environments, including assisting with gallery preparation and collaborating with creatives at the Exceptional Children Foundation. These experiences have helped me develop patience, adaptability, and a strong understanding of how to guide others through the creative process.

My approach as a tutor is centered on engagement and building confidence. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, understood, and actively involved in the learning process. I use a student-centered approach that adapts to each individual’s learning style, emphasizing demonstration, hands-on practice, and constructive feedback.
As an animation graduate with leadership and public speaking experience, I bring both technical knowledge and strong communication skills. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their skills. My lessons are best suited for beginner to intermediate students, including middle school, high school, and early college learners.
A typical session begins with a brief check-in to assess the student’s current understanding and goals. I then introduce or review key concepts through clear examples and demonstrations. The majority of the session is dedicated to guided practice, where students actively apply what they’ve learned while receiving support and feedback. When appropriate, I also incorporate project-based work that students can include in their portfolios. Each session concludes with a short reflection to reinforce key takeaways and set goals for continued progress.
