About Soumalya
Hello! I am currently pursuing an MSc in Biotechnology at the University of Glasgow and offer personalised tutoring for students in India who wish to excel in science subjects. I hold a BSc in Biotechnology (First Class with Distinction) and have strong expertise in molecular biology, immunological techniques, and biochemistry. I have been part of a prestigious research group at IIT Bombay, India, where I worked on systems biology approaches to TNFR1 signalling, along with completing multiple internships and research projects that provided hands-on experience in cutting-edge biotechnology. My teaching approach is interactive, concept-focused, and tailored to help students—from high school to undergraduate level—develop a deep understanding of complex topics. If you’re looking for a dedicated, research-driven tutor who can simplify advanced scientific concepts, I’d be happy to guide you.

My Approach to Tutoring As an MSc Biotechnology student at the University of Glasgow, I combine strong subject knowledge with a student-focused teaching approach. My goal is to make learning interactive, clear, and tailored to each individual’s needs. Teaching Techniques & Methodology I begin by assessing the student’s current understanding and goals. I break down complex topics into easy-to-grasp concepts, using real-life examples and visual aids. Lesson Structure & Length Typical lessons last 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the topic and student’s focus level. Each class begins with a quick recap, followed by the main topic explanation, interactive exercises, and a summary. I assign light homework or revision tasks when required. Qualifications & Experience Pursuing MSc in Biotechnology (University of Glasgow). Completed BSc in Biotechnology with strong academic and research experience. Hands-on experience with molecular biology, immunology, and biochemistry, allowing me to provide in-depth insights beyond textbook knowledge. Previously tutored high school and undergraduate students in biology, chemistry, and basic science. Who Are My Lessons For? School students (GCSE, A-levels, or equivalent) needing support in biology and chemistry. Undergraduate students who need help with biotechnology, molecular biology, or related subjects. Anyone preparing for exams, assignments, or building a strong foundation in science.
