Hi! My name is Kylie, and I’m a college student, a proud mom, and a passionate tutor with years of experience in both academic coaching and sports coaching. I’m currently in my final year of college studying psychological research and on my way to earning my master’s degree. English, writing, and poetry are my biggest academic loves. I specialize in essay writing, literature analysis, poetry interpretation, and helping students craft strong, clear thesis statements. 1) Determine students' writing level and their goals 2) Determine what the student and/or parents would like to focus on during the sessions. 3) Discuss literature and poetry - What were the hidden messages in the story? What literary techniques did the author use? 4) Discover different forms of poetry and poetic structure and devices. 5) Break down all the parts in a thesis and introduction paragraph and create outlines to discover the big picture behind a text. I want to work with each student's individual learning style. I also love to award students for their progress with positive reinforcements and prizes. Understanding a student's goals as well as their family's goals is super important as well.
