About Jake
Hi my name is Jake, I'm 22 and was brought up in Devon and attended Exeter School from the age of 12 where I obtained my GCSE and A-levels. I have just completed my master's in mechanical engineering from Imperial College London. I graduated in October of 2019 with a first class honours. I always look back on my school days with a smile and anything I could do to help someone else through their learning experience would bring me great pleasure. During school I loved to play sports including football, rugby and squash. I also obtained my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards as well as completing a Ten Tors. I enjoy teaching people and they have often commented on how clear, simple and patient I was when explaining complex ideas or methods. During school, college and university I often found myself completing homework or exercises first which meant that others often came to me for help if and when they got stuck. Jake is a great tutor. He patiently explained difficult concepts in a way that was easy to understand. His academic background meant that he was comfortable with all the topics in the curriculum but was still able to communicate them without being patronising. As well as being academically useful, Jake was friendly and approachable and I had no complaints about his punctuality etc. All in all, everything you would want from a tutor - thanks Jake!!
