About Gelasia
Reading has been my passion ever since I could remember—way back in elementary school, when I first got lost in the pages of a book. From the plot twists of Chronicle of a Death Foretold to the emotional depth of The Color Purple, I’ve always been drawn to stories that leave a lasting impression. It’s no wonder I decided to teach reading—I want to share that same excitement and love for books with others! When I’m not immersed in a good novel, I’m usually spending time with my dog, Shadow, who’s as mysterious as the books I read. Oh, and did I mention my favorite color is black? I've got a 4.3 GPA, nailed a 30 on my ACT reading section, and crushed both AP Lit and Lang courses. If that’s not enough to make you sign up, well, I don't know what is! Just kidding! On a serious note, I do peer tutoring at my school for grades K-2 in reading comprehension, and I absolutely LOVE it! My teaching technique? It's all about breaking down the text and really getting what you're reading. Plus, I teach kids how to spot those sneaky key words. But wait, there's more!
