About Ruth
Hello there, I am Ruth, a 17 year old high school student, and I'm about to tell you what makes me, me ;)
Ever since I was a kid, I have been in love with literature and reading and writing, and the whole beautiful tapestry of the English language. I love to read books, mainly young adult novels. Some of my favorite genres would be Romance (of course), Science fiction, Fantasy fiction, and Contemporary fiction. Delving into the worlds and lives of the characters in all the books is always such an exciting and exhilarating journey! While it's just words printed on a paper, the power and beauty it holds is quite extraordinary.
I am also someone who loves to write, and have written multiple articles for my school magazine. I have attempted to write several books, but ended up discontinuing all of them, but hopefully some day I'll finish at least one of them, haha.
I also love oration and public speaking, and after the many times I have had the opportunity to showcase that talent, I have been reliably informed that I am brilliant at it (not to brag). Honestly, I love public speaking or even just speaking in general, haha. It's a wonderful feeling to have something to say, and be up on a stage or any platform, and have the complete freedom to chose your words and fire away.
I am also a pianist and singer-songwriter. I have completed 3 grades in piano from Trinity College London, and have put out two of my original songs on SoundCloud, along with their lyric videos on YouTube. You can check it out if you'd like, just type in my name and the songs will appear :)
I also play basketball, and am a huge advocate for sports in general. It's a very fascinating and beautiful thing, a sport.
And last but not least, I am a painter/artist. A blank canvas and acrylic paints is my solace. To paint is my therapy, and there's no joy quite like working for hours on a piece, and then finally finishing it and seeing that the tiresome (but still fun) process was worth it.

Hey! So my classes will (hopefully) be super interactive, and not remain a one-sided thing. I will expect and encourage the student(s) to be as involved with whatever we're learning, as possible.
After I assess which level the student(s) is at, we will pick up the class from there in accordance with their level.
There is always room for mistakes in my class, and no pressure to be perfect, we're all human here. Along with that, I am always open to learning new things from the student(s) themselves, if I were to find myself in that position.
I am a proud bookworm, so the literature part will be a lot of fun, as we will delve into the heart of the works we're studying, and the student(s) will have a completely safe space to put forth their opinions and interpretations.
As a poet and writer (though unofficial), I will introduce to the students, and teach them the beauty and power of writing, and how the pen truly is sharper than the sword.
And of course, oratory is one of the things I find myself to be the best at, so I will teach my student(s) all the best ways to be confident, natural, and impactful with their oration.
These classes are meant mainly for students who are in middle school and high school.
