About Dave
My name is Dave, and I am a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at Teesside University, currently on track to achieve a First-Class degree. I completed my GCSEs and A Levels a year early, achieving a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths, and a Grade B in A Level Maths. I also entered the UK Mathematics Challenge in 2022 a year early, earning a Bronze Award, reflecting my strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
I am passionate about STEM and about helping others succeed. These qualities drive me to deliver focused, tailored tutoring sessions designed around each student’s individual needs. I bring energy, resilience, and clarity to my teaching, aiming to make complex topics feel simple and manageable.
My goal is to help students not only improve their results but also develop confidence and a genuine understanding of mathematics.

I offer structured, personalised Maths tuition for GCSE students, primary learners, and adults developing essential numeracy skills. My teaching approach focuses on building strong foundations, ensuring students understand why methods work — not just how to follow steps — so they can apply their knowledge confidently in exams and real-life situations.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of prior learning to identify gaps. I then explain key concepts clearly and step-by-step, followed by guided practice and increasingly independent exam-style or practical questions. Each session ends with reflection and clear next steps to maintain consistent, measurable progress.
What sets my approach apart is the calm, non-judgemental space I create. Students are encouraged to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and develop genuine confidence. My aim is not just improved results, but lasting understanding and self-belief in maths.
