About Lia
In addition to teaching high school history, I have experience tutoring students in order to receive missed credits necessary to graduate on a accelerated timeline. I have a bachelors degree from the University of Chicago in American history, specializing in Cold War Geopolitics and Human Rights. Additionally I hold a Masters of Education from Vanderbilt University in Secondary Education, social studies.

I am a 9th grade world history teacher with a degree in contemporary American history and a Masters degree in secondary education. I am familiar with the skills necessary to succeed in high school history and can prepare students to excel. I am also familiar with the CBEST, PRAXIS, and EdTPA and will provide support in studying for and navigating these exams. Additionally, I am available to provide tutoring for AP history classes and exams. A typical tutoring session includes guided practice with curriculum appropriate practice activities and support in building skills to continue practicing on your own.
