About Mya
I am a high school student with a strong academic record in English, consistently earning averages in the 90s and above. I am currently enrolled in English Honors and plan to apply for AP English Language, reflecting my dedication to developing advanced reading, writing, and analytical skills.
I take tutoring seriously and approach every lesson with professionalism, patience, and preparation. My goal is to help students feel confident in their abilities by explaining concepts clearly and breaking down challenging material into manageable steps. I focus on real understanding, not just completing assignments.
Outside of academics, I enjoy writing my own stories, which strengthens my creativity and understanding of effective writing. I also enjoy watching TV shows and movies, anime, and crocheting—interests that help me connect with students and make lessons more engaging and relatable.

My Tutoring Approach
As a tutor, my goal is to make English easy to understand and less stressful. I focus on explaining concepts in simple terms and adjusting my teaching style to how each student learns best. I’m patient, supportive, and make sure students feel comfortable asking questions.
Teaching Methods & Techniques
I use step-by-step explanations, examples, and practice questions to help students understand reading, writing, and grammar. For writing, I help students plan, organize, and improve their work instead of just correcting mistakes. I also review school material so students feel more confident in class.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson starts with checking what the student is working on in school or what they find difficult. We review key concepts, practice together, and then work on homework, assignments, or writing. I end each session by reviewing what we learned and giving tips for improvement.

Since I’m a high school student myself, I understand the school system, assignments, and expectations really well. I know what teachers look for and can explain things in a way that’s relatable and easy to understand. I also have strong English averages in the 90s and above.
