About John
As a proven outstanding teacher of mathematics with over 10 years experience in 1:1 and small group teaching and 15 years in a mainstream setting, I endeavour to continue supporting young people in pursuing and gaining confidence in this core subject. I am aware that lack of confidence is the key barrier to high attainment/achievement in this subject and I am proud of the success I have had in changing this for many of my former students. I am a patient teacher and I always give my students the assurance that practice makes perfect! With increased confidence maths becomes fun!

John is an excellent maths teacher; easpecially one-to-one
I have worked alongside John for 10 years at the Royal Free Hospital Children's school. I have observed him teaching many times with learners of varying levels and abilities. Many have had previous negative experiences of Maths but John has a unique method of re-engaging them in a way that ensures they can understand the concept whilst enjoying the experience of learning. He brings fun and humour to the lesson which alleviates learner anxiety allowing them to grasp new concepts in a non-threatening environment.
