About Sydney
My name is Sydney and I have over 10 years experience teaching, tutoring, proctoring, and working closely with children. I will be returning for another Masters degree, this time in Social Work, this fall. I have worked with infants up to adults in educator and caseworker settings. I enjoy getting to know people one-on-one and help them understand content they previously struggled to learn. I am understanding of disabilities, as I have both a genetic health condition and a learning disability (dyscalculia) which have both negatively impacted my ability to learn on occasion. I also have experience working closely with my autistic brother and others on the spectrum. I am always friendly and willing to help others, and greatly enjoy being a teacher!

I have taught all ages, from babies to adults, and find that my favourite part of teaching is getting to know my students one-on-one. Lessons are however long they need to be, but I tend to opt for shorter lessons that are spaced apart in order to not overload a student with information. I have worked with other organisations such as Tutor Doctor and through my undergrad and graduate universities as a tutor. I have also worked in inner city schools as a substitute teacher, and taught a semester of American History at a university ('community college' in America) in 2020.
