About Malachi

I am a passionate guitarist and singer with a strong background in practical music, having achieved 100% in my Leaving Certificate Music practical examination. I took both guitar and singing lessons from the ages of 12 to 18, giving me first-hand experience of the process of developing musical ability and preparing for practical assessments. I also perform regularly in pubs across Dublin, where I continue to develop my musicianship, stage presence and confidence as a live performer. I am enthusiastic about sharing my love of music with young people and helping them develop their own skills, confidence and enjoyment of performing.

My lessons are aimed at students aged 12–18, particularly those preparing for the practical component of Leaving Certificate Music, as well as students looking to improve their guitar playing or singing. I take a friendly, patient and flexible approach, tailoring each lesson to the student's individual ability, musical interests and goals. Lessons focus on developing guitar technique, vocal performance, rhythm, timing, musical expression and performance confidence. Having achieved full marks in my own Leaving Certificate practical, I can share useful preparation techniques and practical advice to help students feel confident going into their assessments. A typical lesson lasts 45–60 minutes and includes focused practice, working on repertoire and identifying areas for improvement. My aim is to create an encouraging environment where students can make steady progress, develop their musical independence and enjoy learning music.
