As a tutor with 13 years of classroom experience in Social Studies and Business, I take a student-centered approach that focuses on making content meaningful, accessible, and relevant. I specialize in working with diverse learners at the middle and high school level, including students in IB programs and those needing differentiated instruction.
Teaching Method & Techniques:
My method is rooted in inquiry-based learning, where students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and make real-world connections. I use a combination of direct instruction, visual aids, guided discussions, and interactive activities to support all types of learners. I also incorporate project-based learning and current events to build engagement and deepen understanding.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Each session begins with a quick check-in or warm-up to assess prior knowledge or spark curiosity. I then introduce or review key content through mini-lessons, videos, or readings. The bulk of the lesson is interactive—students might analyze a historical source, work on a presentation, or collaborate on a mock debate. We wrap up with a quick review or reflection, and I offer feedback or an optional follow-up activity.
