About Tejas
I am Tejas. I am a passionate educator deeply inspired by my grandfather and teachers from school. Unlike others who accidentally became teachers, I knew that this is what I intended to do. Post my graduation, I applied for the Teach For India fellowship and worked as a full time teacher in a government school in Bangalore. That exposure to the harsh realities of life and the loopholes in the education system prompted me to extend my stay at Teach For India as a Program Manager who trained, managed, coached and mentored teachers for years. Currently, I work as Head of Department- English (5-12) in Christel House India.
My philosophy of education is rooted in the idea of student agency, practice, hard work and love. All of these values lead students and teachers to learn continuously and achieve academic and holistic excellence.

My approach to teaching focuses on inquiry and getting the learner to internalise the idea and concept. Eng Lang and lit requires a deep exploration of characters, setting, emotions, author's and reader's view points. Through the classes these elements are deeply explored that builds a strong understanding for students. This approach to teaching and learning enables students to improve their key concepts which reflects in their academic proficiency as well.
