About Tim

I have been teaching English for more than 33 years, and have high expectations for my students. I aim to turn weaknesses into strengths and enable learners to succeed by guiding rather than instructing them so they discover for themselves.

About the lesson

I guide students and show them how they can improve their writing skills and improve by focusing on the esentials of writing: using diverse vocabulary, varying sentence structure, and concentrating on cohesion and coherence between sentences and paragraphs.

Perfect! Mr. Tim is a great teacher. He has been tutoring my 12-year-old for nearly a year. Before working with my child, he mostly taught at college level (including ESL). He transitioned quickly and smoothly to my child's grade level. His class is well structured. His weekly homework covers a good depth and breadth, which he will review with my child the next week. He is super good at connecting with students. A very engaging teacher who makes reading and writing fun!

BTW, if you are into British TV shows (Endeavour fans, anybody?), Mr. Tim is a native and his accent is an added bonus!

We highly recommend Mr. Tim!

Tim's response
Aaron is a bright student who needs dedicated support to help him achieve his goals. He has a good understanding of reading comprehension; however, he must take care when searching for details and composing his written answers. I look forward to working together in partnership with him. Great job!
