About Ava
Not only do I have a personal love and inclination towards English, but I've also spent my entire education being in advanced English classes, including Honors, college-level, and AP. In turn, these classes have allowed me to flourish when it comes to understanding higher-level literature and writing, while also teaching me how to assist others in analyzing whatever material we're looking at, or understanding new ways of writing.

I usually approach teaching by looking at the student's assignment and doing it myself, or figuring out the parts of it that I don't initially understand, that way I can tackle the assignment and assist the student with full context and understanding. A typical lesson plan can go one of two ways: messaging back and forth, with the student sending me the assignment they need help with, while I take some time to complete it, and then send back the completed assignment in small increments paired with guided explanations to ensure that the student isn't just getting their work done for them, but also gaining a real understanding of what they may be struggling with. On the other hand, we could do short, forty-five minute to an hour long sessions some time in the morning or afternoon to go over homework or a lesson they're struggling with in real time. Even with my more advanced skill set, I'd recommend my tutoring to grades no higher than 12th grade, since I am a high school student myself. I tutor with determination, and with no intention to give up on anyone with a differing skill set in hopes to help fellow students gain a better understanding (and maybe even a greater love) for English literature and writing!
