About Halaina
As a teacher candidate, I have a deep understanding of the importance of planning and flexibility when it comes to education. It can be hard to understand a subject when you don't know your endpoint for the topic. As a tutor, I not only create personalized lesson plans and lesson content to fit your educational needs, but also can adapt these as you change and develop as a learner yourself. I have a strong and vast background in pedagogy and the study of educational principles. More importantly, I understand as a previously struggling student in high school, how challenging it can be to ask for help when you are struggling, and how important it is to get the support you need.

I graduated with my honors bachelor's degree maintaining a 4.0 average over my entire academic career. Additionally, I performed research on thinking styles and student perception of learning, and have a deep understanding of the importance of accessibility and personalization in education. You are an individual and deserve to be taught in a way that fits how you learn best! As an OCT teacher candidate in the process of becoming licensed, I have intimate and vast understanding of the Ontario curriculum for the intermediate and senior divisions ranging from grade 7 all the way up until grade 12. I also have a wide basis of knowledge stretching from topics in business and statistics all the way to physics and biology. Learning is a journey that is hard to be on by yourself, but with the right support, the journey can be enjoyable and beneficial. That support is something that I can give you as a tutor!
