About Stephen
I am a recent graduate of Emory University, where I learned High Honors for my thesis on the writer Samuel Beckett. While there, I edited at my school newspaper, at Emory Law School, and at the literary journal Post45. Since graduating, I have held editorial internships at Dalkey Archive Press and Farrar, Straus & Giroux, where I have further developed and refined my editorial skills.

I excel at helping students develop, draft, and revise essays. As a former advising fellow at Matriculate, literature teaching assistant at Emory University, and editor with several years of experience working with high school and college students, as well as academics and professional writers, I bring a wide array of experience to the table. I can work with students improve their college essays, analytical papers for classes, creative writing exercises and short stories, and essays for AP exams (I have experience especially with AP Language, AP Literature, AP US History, and AP World History). I like working with students one-on-one; that way, I can build a rapport with them, help them develop their personal voice, and ensure they receive the best and most comprehensive help possible. A typical lesson with me might involve working with a student to draft a thesis, locating evidence to support it, or going line by line to provide feedback on a draft.
