About Lila
I am a university student currently studying at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. I am majoring in Geology and Minoring in English. I was a grade 12 honours student in high school, and I have a passion for reading and analyzing literature. My geology studies gives me experience in technical scientific writing, while my English background gives me experience in creative writing, as well as essay writing. I am able to help brainstorm ideas for essays and creative writing, give support through the writing process and edit written works. Additionally, I have access to academic papers and resources through my university, and can therefore assist in research.

My teaching methods are based off of the grade, subject matter and specific needs of the student. The classes are meant for students in high school, but can also be tailored for elementary and middle school students.
Typically I would be assisting with homework and assignments, specifically essays and creative writing assignments. This help can also be applied to social studies/psychology and other fields as long as writing is concerned. My goal is to help students improve their literature analysis and essay writing skills. Any editing done will come with detailed notes about why specific sections were edited, and the editing process will be interactive.
Currently, due to COVID-19 I will be conducting all tutoring sessions online, therefore the use of shared online documents such as Googledocs can be used. Lessons can be conducted over Skype, Google hangout, Discord, and Zoom.
