About Lukas
I'm Lukas, a graduate of the University of St. Gallen (HSG) with a Master's degree in Banking & Finance, and I currently work in finance in Zurich. Even during my studies, I worked as a teaching assistant at the university, teaching mathematics, statistics, and economics, and discovered how much I enjoy explaining complex topics in an understandable way. What sets me apart is that I know both sides. I've sat in lectures where the material was rushed through far too quickly, and I've stood in front of students desperately searching for explanations just before exams. This experience helps me empathize with your situation and present the material in a way that truly resonates. I'm not a fan of rote memorization. My goal is for you to understand the logic behind the concepts, because only then can you apply that knowledge to new challenges. I'm patient, direct, and approachable. My expertise ranges from mathematics and statistics to micro- and macroeconomics, corporate finance, investment appraisal, and financial modeling. Are you stuck in math, is your statistics exam looming, or are finance concepts just not clicking? Then you've come to the right place. I'm Lukas, a graduate of the University of St. Gallen (HSG) with a Master's degree in Banking & Finance. During my studies, I worked as a teaching assistant in mathematics, statistics, and economics. So, I not only know how to understand the material, but also how to explain it in a way that sticks. My approach is simple: I meet you where you are. No mindless working through theory; instead, we first look at exactly where you're struggling. Then we work on it specifically, with concrete examples, exercises, and, if necessary, a completely different approach to explaining things than what's taught in class. It's important to me that you truly understand the material and don't just memorize it. A typical session looks like this: We start briefly with your questions or the current problem. Then, we work through the concept together step by step, work through it with examples, and solidify it with practice problems. At the end, you'll receive a clear summary so you can continue working independently. My lessons are aimed at secondary school students (including high school students) as well as bachelor's and master's students. Whether it's analysis, linear algebra, probability theory, descriptive and inferential statistics, micro- and macroeconomics, corporate finance, or investment appraisal, I cover a broad spectrum and adapt to your level. I teach both in person in Winterthur and online via video call, flexibly according to your schedule.
