About Victoria
I am a professional 26 year old female who has recently graduated from the University of Derby, achieving a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology. Although this is my main interest, I have knowledge of a number of GCSE subjects including Maths, English and History and have recently helped my younger brother in these subjects. I also have two younger siblings still in primary school and regularly help them with any school work they are struggling with. The age differences between my siblings have therefore ensured that I am able to tailor my tutoring style to suit the student.
I have worked in a variety of sectors and roles both prior and during my studies which has enabled me to interact with people of different backgrounds, genders and ages. This has developed my communication skills and increased my ability to explain subjects in a variety of ways to suit individual needs. As part of my Access to HE Diploma (Teaching Science) to gain entry into University, I volunteered at my local high school, working in SEND classes. This involved both one-to-one tutoring at a multitude of levels, but also delivering full 50 minute classes.
These experiences have aided in my ability to help younger people understand complex topics and I am excited to be able to assist others achieve their potential.

I understand that different people learn in different ways, and so can tailor my tutoring style to meet those individual needs. While one person may learn better through visual aids, another may be better suited to verbal explanations, and I have enhanced these skills during university whilst working in group settings, as well as while aiding my siblings with their work.
