About Leif
Teaching has always been a passion of mine whether it be in sports, or in school helping classmates grasp the content of the course. Currently, I'm at the University of Delaware on the pre-med track and I plan to go to medical school. I currently have a 3.89 GPA and obtained a mix of A- and A's in semesters of general chemistry and bio. I will be a tutor next year as well as a workshop leader (workshop is a small set of students solving chem problems together).

I have several teaching methods that I can use depending on the kind of student and their knowledge level on the particular subject. Overall, I love doing problems as listening to somebody lecture is only half of it. Doing the problem is where the real learning happens. I also love using pictures when applicable as I am a very visual learner. A typical lesson plan would hopefully be me explaining the general concept and why it's important and then going over problems that match the unit. What sets me apart is the ability to break down complex concepts into simple ideas that make it understandable for any level. I'm able to explain the why of most concepts which helps make it easier to grasp. The lessons I want to give are for people who are in middle and high school. I've taken classes introductory chemistry and biology, and AP Calc BC, nothing with organic chemistry. My main goal would be to teach the sciences, but I am proficient in algebra and some basic calculus.
