About Shotaro
I am a first-year Physics undergraduate at Imperial College London, having recently graduated from Winchester College with top A-Level marks (A*A*AA) in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Further Mathematics. I am also a top achiever in GCSEs (four 9s, one 8, six A*). My deep academic interest in STEM has driven me to win a Gold Award in the British Physics Olympiad Computational Challenge and build automotive components as a Drivetrain Engineer for Imperial Formula Racing.
My path to Imperial has given me a firsthand understanding of what it takes to excel in intense academic environments. I am passionate about sharing the study techniques, exam strategies, and admissions insights that helped me succeed, helping the next generation of students unlock their full potential in STEM and secure spots at their dream universities.

My Teaching Methodology:
I believe that confidence in STEM subjects comes from a balance of deep conceptual understanding and rigorous exam technique. Whether we are tackling school curriculum or preparing for highly competitive university entrance, my approach is systematic and results-driven:
- Comprehensive Content Coverage: We begin by breaking down complex school or test topics into clear, high-yield bullet points. This ensures you grasp the core principles and logic behind the science or maths without getting overwhelmed.
- Active Past Paper Application: Once the theory is solid, we pivot straight to official past paper questions. Together, we learn how to dissect examiner phrasing, avoid common pitfalls, and construct perfect, full-mark answers.
University Admissions & Oxbridge/Imperial Mentorship:
As a current Physics undergraduate at Imperial College London, I know exactly what it takes to secure offers from top-tier Russell Group universities. Alongside standard tutoring, I offer specialised admissions support:
- ESAT Preparation: Targeted coaching for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Admissions Test (ESAT), focusing on advanced problem-solving speed and critical thinking strategies.
- CV & Personal Statement Advice: Strategic guidance on how to structure your academic profile, highlight impactful STEM achievements, and present yourself as an ideal candidate for elite institutions.
This structured approach takes the guesswork out of revision and admissions, ensuring you walk into your exams and application season fully prepared to maximise your potential.
