About Lunar
Hello! My name is Lunar, and I offer English and Combined History tuition for Primary and Secondary students in Singapore.
As someone who achieved an A1 for O-Level English in 2023, maintained Excellence in English throughout all four years of secondary school, and received the Edusave Scholarship, Edusave Bursary, and EAGLES Award, I understand what it takes to excel in these subjects. I enjoy helping students build both confidence and strong academic foundations.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student's learning pace. Rather than relying solely on memorization, I focus on helping students understand concepts through discussion, critical thinking, and practical application. For English, I incorporate modern learning techniques, including analyzing current articles, improving vocabulary in context, developing writing structure, and strengthening comprehension skills. For Combined History, I help students break down source-based questions, improve essay writing, and understand historical events in a clear and engaging way.
Having ADHD myself, I understand that every student learns differently. I am especially patient with students who are neurodivergent or require more time and support to grasp concepts. I strive to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace.

Having ADHD myself, I understand that every student learns differently. I am especially patient with students who are neurodivergent or require more time and support to grasp concepts. I strive to create a comfortable, judgement-free environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace.
Although I am at the beginning of my professional tutoring journey, I have previously tutored friends and classmates, helping them better understand challenging topics and improve their confidence. I believe that being a younger tutor also allows me to relate well to students and explain concepts in ways that are relevant and easy to understand.
Lessons are typically 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the student's age and goals, that can all be arranged. My lessons are suitable for Primary and Secondary school students, whether they need help strengthening their fundamentals, preparing for examinations, or aiming for higher grades.
My goal is not only to help students achieve better results but also to help them develop confidence and enjoy learning.
