About Arlo
As an experienced flute tutor with 12 years of teaching experience, I enjoy helping students of different ages develop their musical abilities. I teach school students, college students, and working professionals by creating lessons that are simple, organized, and suited to each learner's pace.
My teaching approach combines communication, motivation, creativity, and patience. I believe every student has the ability to learn when provided with the right guidance and encouragement. My lessons include practical demonstrations, guided practice, and personalized feedback to help students improve confidently.
Besides flute, I teach music theory, ear training, rhythm development, breath control, beginner keyboard, sight reading, improvisation basics, and performance skills. These related subjects help students gain a deeper understanding of music.
I help students improve tone quality, finger technique, rhythm, breathing, posture, and stage confidence. I encourage consistent practice while making every lesson enjoyable and rewarding. My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing students become confident musicians who enjoy expressing themselves through music.

I believe that every student should enjoy learning the flute while building confidence and strong musical skills. My teaching methodology is based on Communication, Accountability, and Integrity. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable learning, asking questions, and improving step by step.
Each lesson starts with breathing exercises, posture, embouchure, finger positioning, and tone production. Once students understand these fundamentals, they continue with scales, rhythm exercises, note reading, articulation, dynamics, phrasing, and performance techniques. Lessons are carefully planned to suit each student's ability and learning goals.
Communication allows me to explain every concept clearly and encourage active participation. Accountability motivates students to practice consistently, complete assignments, and take responsibility for their progress. Integrity guides my teaching with honesty, patience, fairness, and respect, helping students stay motivated throughout their musical journey.
Besides flute, I also teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Sight Reading, Staff Notation, Rhythm Training, Breath Control, Instrument Care, Performance Skills, Music Appreciation, and Practice Techniques. These supporting subjects help students become complete musicians with strong technical and theoretical knowledge.
My goal is to help students develop confidence, enjoy learning, and achieve lasting success through dedication and regular practice.
