About Sophie
I am a London-based artist who has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions internationally, and have had my paintings featured in publications including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Dazed and Confused, and Aesthetica.
I have been teaching and mentoring in painting for over ten years and am really passionate about helping others reach their potential as artists and reach their goals. I have experience working with both complete beginners to paint, and mentoring artists at different stages of their career, and am known for being a kind, thoughtful and inspiring person to work with.

Whether you're picking up oil paint for the first time or you're an experienced artist looking to push your work further, my lessons are built around you. Beginners gain a solid grounding in oil painting technique and contemporary painting; more experienced painters get the support, challenge and perspective to develop their practice with purpose.
In my sessions with painters you work on or towards your own paintings, from your own source material and ideas, and I will help you find the techniques and materials to bring them to life. Along the way you'll deepen your understanding of what oil paint can do, technically and materially, and help you to grow in confidence in your own vision and voice as a painter.
As an exhibiting artist I bring a deep knowledge of professional materials and of the contemporary art world. You'll get focused, honest feedback from someone who understands how paintings are made, and how they're received, and how to work towards your goals.
For over ten years I've taught one-to-one, shaping each lesson around your goals and pace. That might mean learning the fundamentals from scratch, building technical confidence, developing a coherent body of work to approach galleries with, or preparing a portfolio for art school or exhibition.
