About Yuki
My name is Yuki Yasunaga, I'm a Japanese American 1st year college student, and I was born and raised here in California.
I've tutored math professionally for over 2 years, teaching at the Glendora Kumon Center, a Japanese based teaching system that has been around for 60+ years. At this center, I work with all kinds of children, some struggling with their schoolwork, others working years ahead of their grade level. Out of all of these children, I find that they all have a shared passion for learning that I look to nurture and allow for growth that continues far beyond the time I spend working with them.
Personally, I've upheld a strong background in math, being a student at my Kumon center for over 10 years before working there, and often found myself tutoring my friends as I've grown up, and still do to this day in College.
As a Tutor, I promise my undivided attention and to provide quality one on one tutoring with your child in order to maximize the time spent together and create a positive impact in their academic careers.

Hello, my name is Yuki Yasunaga. Thank you for taking the time to read about my tutoring services.
My main objective when tutoring new students is not only to improve their grades, but to help improve their confidence in their mathematical capabilities.
A typical lesson would consist of a brief review of the new course material that has been introduced to my student, as well as highlighting any concepts that the student may have found challenging. After assessing where my student's academic standpoint is, I help the student strengthen the concepts that they may feel weaker with by walking them through their previous assignments, or creating practice problems that imitate questions that they may see in future tests and quizzes.
