About Ben

I'm a keys player and neo-soul producer that can show you the systems to get those thick, lush chords you hear in jazz, gospel, neo-soul. We can also work on improvisation as well as writing your own music.

Being both a producer and a player, I can help you develop your unique sense of what sounds good and implement it on keys. Sessions can be taken into Ableton so that you leave with stems to use in your demo.

About the lesson

My teaching focuses on giving you the tools to create your own harmonic and melodic vocabulary: chord theory, songwriting and improvisational fluency.

I'm probably the wrong teacher if you want to work through Grade exams or build a big repertoire of set pieces. I'm the right teacher if you're a musician who wants to write original music, improvise with confidence, and actually understand the harmony you're using.
