About Sophie
Originally from New York City, I have been a curious and motivated math student throughout my academic career. I took all of my math classes at a rigorous level, and received “A” (highest grade – 95-100%) in all of them.
In my freshman year, I took Algebra II Honors, and concurrently took Geometry Honors online which allowed me to skip a year in my math trajectory. As a junior, I took AP BC Calculus and AP Statistics, and received a 5 on both AP exams as well as 5 in the AB subsection of the BC Calculus test. I also scored a 790 on the math portion of the SAT and 800 on the Math 2 SAT Subject Test. After completing the math sequence at my school as a junior, I sought out other ways to continue my academic math course. My senior fall, I took Calculus III at Columbia University, and took Ordinary Differential Equations through Hunter College in the spring.
Having previously tutored informally since early middle school and officially tutoring for a year and a half, I love sharing my passion for math with others. I've tutored over 7 different clients in levels ranging from 8th grade pre-algebra, algebra 2, precalculus, and geometry.
