About Joseph
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am experienced in teaching students of all ages and abilities in varying styles of music from Classical to Jazz improvisation and Pop music.
I have performed in various venues across the UK, some of the highlights including prestigious jazz venues like the Pizza Express Jazz Club, the Spice of Life and the Vortex as well as large concert halls including the Barbican and the Royal Albert Hall.
On top of performing with my own jazz quartet, you can also regularly see me performing around London with the fusion band Elephant Talk and the swinging Hard Bop Sextet Jessop Jessop Jessop, as well as with a number of pop, soul and funk bands.

I am a freelance musician from London. I teach all brass instruments and am always happy to tailor my teaching to whatever the needs of the student, whether they are looking to take ABRSM/Trinity exams, or simply have fun!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach all brass instruments to a grade eight and diploma standard. I also teach Jazz and improvisation to all levels from absolute beginner up to helping with music college auditions.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have achieved grade 8 certificates in both Trombone and Euphonium, as well as obtaining qualifications in piano, saxophone, flute and music theory. I am currently in my fourth and final year of my undergraduate degree in Jazz Trombone at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30 an hour, £20 for a half an hour lesson.
For a consultation lesson I charge £20 or £15 for half an hour.
- Where do you teach?
I am based in Harringay but due to my neighbours I cannot teach in my home so I travel to my students. I teach in North and Central London.
- When are you available?
I have a flexible schedule so please get in touch and we can find a time that suits both of us!
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all levels from beginner to advanced to students aged 8 and up.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Any Trinity/ABRSM exam
