Teaching is a two way process. My role as a tutor would be to facilitate students reach their potential by helping them grasp difficult topics, get a handle on exam technique and timing. Ultimately however, a tutor session once or twice a week does not make excellent grades - the motivation, hard work and drive must come from the student. I can help by teaching and sharing my passion but the student must be willing to put in the work outside of our time together.
I am always happy to help out with any difficult topics or questions on the day of the tutorial. However, the most fruitful lessons are when the student is able to identify what they would like to focus on in advance of the tutorial. This gives me time to prepare subject material and time to find or prepare exam style questions so that I can deliver high quality education tailored to the student's needs.
I am a junior doctor working in Leeds. I graduated from Leicester this year. As a medical student, I was involved with teaching younger years and I enjoy teaching as part of my job as a doctor as well. I come from a small town in Lincolnshire and know that it can sometimes be difficult to access the support needed to excel in school. I am keen to spread the joy of learning and passion for science by teaching chemistry to GCSE level and biology at GCSE and A level to break down complex subject matter into easy to understand bites. As a doctor fresh out of medical school, I am also happy to help out with medical school applications.
You may cancel lessons up to 24 hours in advance free of charge. A cancellation within 24 hours will be at half rate. This is to compensate for time spent lesson planning.
