About Rachel
As a King's College London Law (LLB) Graduate, I have extensive experience producing and refining high-level academic writing in a degree where structure, clarity, and persuasive argument are crucial. Alongside my studies, I developed strong teaching and leadership skills through roles including Vice President of the KCL Law Society, Student Advisor at the KCL Legal Clinic, and Student Journalist at Roar, KCL's student newspaper. This role at Roar particularly allowed me to develop strong written communication skills, including fostering my ability to edit writing for tone and impact. Throughout my degree and professional experiences, I have consistently worked in research-heavy, writing-intensive environments, including legal research and commercial work, which has given me a strong understanding of what universities and markers expect from top-level essays. I take pride in helping students strengthen their writing through practical guidance, clear feedback and repeatable strategies that improve structure, critical analysis, and academic style.

My lessons are focused on helping students write clearer, stronger academic work. This includes improving essay structure, building convincing arguments, and writing with more precision and clarity. I break down academic writing into practical steps, so that students understand not only what to change, but why it improves their work, leading to long-term learning that can be applied over and over again for success.
As a King's College London Law graduate, I have spent years working within a degree that is heavily writing and analysis based. Success in a law degree depends on presenting complex ideas and arguments clearly, persuasively, and with iron-clad research to back it. This training allows me to teach essay writing in a methodical way, not only improving the quality of work, but diving into teaching why certain essay methods and argument structures are stronger/more convincing choices than others.
I adapt each lesson to the student's existing skill level, ensuring they have a secure foundation before moving into more advanced skills such as critical analysis, searching for stronger sources, and refining academic tone. I customize lesson formulas to fit individual needs, and provide detailed feedback on direction, structure, and content.
