I know that people learn in different ways, so to a degree I am student-led. I feel it is important to keep lessons varied, so they would be a mixture of teacher demonstration; trial, error and practice within a classroom setting; video tutorials; small, simple projects, working on building up the necessary skills to create knitted marvels, and to extend students' creativity to work on personal projects.
I have loved knitting and creating since I was a little girl. Many of my friends have asked me to teach them the skill over the years, and it struck me that I could do this in a group setting, too. I always have knitting projects on the go, and I know how enjoyable and beneficial the craft can be for one's wellbeing.
It is not possible to gain many qualifications in knitting other than to gain the skills to create a wide variety of knitted goods. I have knitted with vast enthusiasm since the age of 6, so have 50 continuous years of experience. I have a large portfolio of my creations through the years that I can use as inspiration for students.
