About Macy
Hi, I’m Macy! I am a Chemistry BSc graduate from Cardiff University and a current Master’s student in the European Fragrance and Cosmetics programme at ISIPCA in France. Additionally, I have also completed a year of BSc Mathematics and achieved an A-Level in Maths, giving me a strong quantitative foundation alongside my Chemistry background. I offer tailored online Maths tutoring for KS1–KS3 (pre-GCSE) and GCSE students. Alongside tutoring, I write a cosmetic science blog where I enjoy breaking down complex scientific concepts into clear, relatable explanations. My aim is to make learning structured, engaging, clear, and confidence-building for every student!

I have over two years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level students in Maths through personalised online lessons. Each session is carefully tailored to the individual student, focusing on building confidence, strengthening core understanding, and improving exam technique. I regularly use real past-paper questions from the relevant exam board and create targeted homework to reinforce learning between lessons. Lessons typically last 30 minutes - 1 hour and are structured, supportive, and adapted to the student’s pace and goals.

Macy is a wonderful tutor. She has a knack for explaining complicated concepts in a more understandable way but without being patronising or condescending. She works with you at your own pace, but knows when to give you a challenge that will encourage you to grow and learn even better. And as a person, she is not at all intimidating but rather very welcoming and calming - which I found extremely important when working on Chemistry which was by far my most daunting and difficult subject in school. Overall, she is a great tutor who thoroughly understands how a student could find chemistry challenging and succeeds in making it achievable for them. Macy really encouraged me and empowered me so I felt as confident as I could be going into my exams.
