About Chum Cheran
Hey! I'm a church music director and musician with nearly a decade of experience playing guitar. Guitar was the first instrument I learned, and it's still one of the instruments I enjoy playing the most.
I've also been playing bass guitar for almost 5 years now, and I have experience playing other instruments such as piano, drums, and ukulele. Being familiar with different instruments has helped me understand music from different perspectives, especially when playing with other musicians.
A lot of my experience comes from playing in church, where I've had the opportunity to play different styles of music, learn songs by ear, arrange parts, and work together with other musicians.
When I teach, I try to keep things simple and comfortable. I know how frustrating it can be to get stuck on something when learning an instrument, so I want my students to actually understand what they're playing instead of just memorizing things.
My goal is to help you become a more confident and independent musician while still having fun learning along the way.

**Master Fingerstyle, Gospel, Acoustic & Electric Guitar with a Church Music Director**
Hey! I’m a church music director and guitarist with nearly a decade of experience playing and learning different styles of music. I offer online guitar lessons for beginners, intermediate players, or anyone who simply wants to get better at playing the kind of music they actually enjoy.
Whether you want to learn fingerstyle, improve your acoustic playing, get better at electric guitar, or learn more about worship and gospel guitar, I can help you work toward your goals.
One of the things I really focus on is **playing by ear**. Instead of just teaching you songs note-for-note, I want you to understand how to listen, figure things out on your own, follow chord progressions, and eventually improvise without having to rely on tabs all the time.
I also keep theory practical and easy to understand. No need to memorize a bunch of complicated stuff before you can actually play. We'll learn things as they become useful.
Guitar was actually the first instrument I learned, so I know how frustrating it can be when you're stuck on something. My goal is to make learning guitar enjoyable, comfortable, and something you can actually use outside of the lesson.
