About Elise
I have experience teaching in a variety of settings, including classrooms, rock bands, group lessons, and private one-on-one lessons. I have a degree in music, which allowed me to study a wide variety of musical fields, including education, music theory, composition, as well as ethnomusicology and global music cultures---all of which have helped remind me to expand my interpretation of music

Have you always wanted to play guitar but didn't know where to start? Do you fantasize about playing your favorite songs but don't know how to get there yet? I understand!
Part of my curriculum is performance-focused. With my highly goal-oriented and discovery-centered approach to music instruction, I can take you from imagining how to play guitar to passionately performing a setlist for friends, family, and audiences. Teaching music in a variety of settings, I am knowledgeable of different learning styles and ways of teaching music, and emphasize movement, personal interpretation and connection to music. With my instruction, you can learn all the major skills musicians need, including:
1. reading music
2. ear-training
3. theory and scales
4. composition
5. improvisation
6. performance
